The Ottawa Typographical Union was formed on June 17th, 1867. It was the fourth Canadian Local to affiliate with the International Typographical Union.  Through union mergers and locals changing over the years that passed, eventually it became what is today Unifor Local 34-O, the oldest continually operating union Local in Canada's Capital. We are a trade Union representing employees in the Ottawa area who work under the umbrella of Bell Canada Enterprises (BCE): Bell Canada, Bell Technical Solutions, Transervice, and Nexacor.
